Statutory rape: Boy, 16, sought by cops

KOTA MARUDU: Police are looking for a 16-year-old boy in connection with a statutory rape incident.

A 14-year old student lodged a police report against him yesterday.

District police chief DSP Mohd Isa Yusoff told New Sabah Times that the girl accompanied by her parents lodged the police report after the latter found out about the incident which allegedly took place on August 20.

Initial investigation showed the boy, who was employed as a labourer, and the alleged had sex on August 20.

“The girl in her police report claimed that she and the suspect had sex once at about 10pm in an unnumbered house in Kampung Langkon,” said Mohd Isa.

Police have referred the girl to hospital for medical examination and the case is being probed under Section 376 (1) of Penal Code.
